It has come to our attention that you turned down NYC Council Member Jessica Lappin's offer to help advocate on behalf of Bowne House to have the $604,000, promised to the Bowne House restoration project for this year, restored to the FY '09 city budget.
As Chair of the NYC Council Landmarks Committee, CM Lappin is in a prime position to help Bowne House with this and many other issues that continue to plague this historic treasure. Please don't stand in the way of Bowne House receiving the help it needs THIS YEAR.
Please support CM Lappin's offer to advocate on behalf of Bowne House for the restoration of the $604,000, promised to the Bowne House restoration project, to this year's city budget. We have all been waiting a long time to see Bowne House return to its previous stature as an historic destination.
The house can not wait another 4 years for this money. And NYC can not wait another 4 years to see whether one its most important cultural sites will ever reopen its doors.
